My Dog (Pic)

This is Sarahbii (like the lion off of Lion King; Simba's mother) and she is going to be put to sleep today. I have had her since I was very young. She is 13 and lived a life that the owner said she would not live. Dogs this large only live to be around 7 or 8 so she was very healthy and happy. She is a Great Pyranees and mostly found in the mountains of NC herding sheep. We don't happen to have any sheep so she was my pet. Quite spoiled, she was.

Over the past few months, she started to develop a tumor inside of her. We noticed signs, such as vomiting, using the restroom everywhere, and other symtons, that she was not doing so well, but we thought it was just being old and the reaction to the new medicine she was on (arthritis). We took her to the vet and they informed us that she had kidney failur, bladder failur, as well as the tumor growing inside of her. The vet explained to us that it was too late for surgery and to take her home and keep her happy, for today, was the day that her life would end. She laid down to sleep, and due to weakness from not eating, combined with the monsterous tumor inside of her, was not able to get up, and laid on her lavish bed to say her last goodbyes.

She lived a good life, and I am only happier that she is going to a better place. Posted by Picasa
