There have been millions of complaints of laptop explosions, fires, and just plain not working. What is the cause? Batteries!
It seems that Sony have been distributing millions of defective laptop batteries. If you own a Apple Powerbook G4 or a Dell Inspiron 5000, then you should head on over to the Dell and/or Apple website for more info.
It is a pretty simple process. A friend of mine didn't get the pleasure of seeing his computer explode or burn, but his computer did have a defective battery and the process he went through was pretty simple. Just fill out a short form, and your battery will be on its way! How long it will take? Who knows, but hopefully they won't be too long about it.
Just to let you know, Dell has recalled the most laptop batteries in history, and Apple has just recently recalled 1.8 million laptop batteries.
