I've posted many a story on robots doing crazy things, but I have never posted a story on robots climbing poles until today. Named RiSE V3 pole-climbing robot, this robot will show you its skills without batting an eye.In addition to a vastly different leg mechanism, this model (because there is more than one unfortunately) also makes use of some brushless DC motors that increase the power density to let it climb poles at rates up to 22cm per second.
Take a look at the video and you'll find it isn't ready for stealthy operations just yet, but give it some time and you may look up a pole to see a robot stairing at you.
