Another Teacher Arrest

It is always interesting to hear what happens to those that you use to go to school with. Some news is good, and some news is bad. Unfortunately, the news that I heard was bad. Allenna Williams Ward was a friend of mine as well as her sister. We did many plays together so we knew each other well-the whole family in fact. They were all great christian people who I would not see doing anything wrong. One of the nicest families I have ever met, especially Allenna Williams Ward. That is what everyone says though...

The Greenville News reported that "Allenna was accused of having sex with at least five boys. Some of them students at her school and was arrested Wednesday. Police began investigating Allenna Williams Ward, 23, after school officials recovered a note containing inappropriate messages, said Clinton Public Safety Director John Thomas.

Allenna, who is married, had sexual encounters with the 14 and 15 year-old boys at various locations, including in the school, at a motel, in a park and behind a restaurant, from December to this month, according to arrest warrants. Some of the victims were students at Allenna's school in Clinton.

Allenna was placed on administrative leave with pay last Thursday. Allenna was charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor and six counts of lewd acts on a minor, according to arrest warrants."

She is being held in jail awaiting a bail hearing.

It is really sad to hear news like this. I only hope this is the last time I hear about another friend doing something news worthy-bad that is.

Just because you are christian doesn't exclude you from the same madness as the rest of us non-believers. In fact, I would say being Christain causes madness.

JoCoWash said...

Maybe, but it is more surprising if you are a christian, especially if you are a christian (like her) that would turn your head up at this type of stuff and then turn around and do it. Hipocracy is usually surprising-for me that is.

Not surprising to me. Satan loves tempting and destroying Christians. Makes the world hate them even more. c

I think it is blown way out of proportion. For 99% of teen males, having sex with a female teacher will raise your self-esteem and improve the way you are viewed by your peers. Having society make you feel "dirty" for doing it, will have the opposite effect.

Interesting that you've already convicted her in your mind. Do you know more than the news reports say, or do you choose to assume the worst when you hear bad news about a "friend"?

Christian or non-Christian, I'm not so sure she could have controlled her urges. She's human, which overrides her religion. And who knows what psychological dynamics are at play.

Actually, I think people of faith are more likely to engage in sex with minors. Hasnt that been proven as quite the case lately?

Obviously this young woman has some deeply rooted problems. Lets hope that the students she became involved with are getting some counceling as well as the child-like teacher. It may sound freudian, but she was probably sexually abused. Promiscuity with her age and backround generally point to deeper, more damaging secrets. Sexual misconduct almost always comes from self hatred. Men use violence, money, weapons and theft to destroy themselves, women use their bodies. Simple facts. My heart goes out to her as much as the boys she involved in her illness. Being Christian can make it ten times more complicated depending on what doctrine you were taught. Remember that the church and bible are interpreted and taught by human beings and can often have little to do with faith. Finding faith is personal and can sometimes be more confused by the teachings themselves.

Thanks for the comments. As some of you have mentioned, more and more teachers are doing this and it seems to be the norm. However, I think she could have avoided this, just like anyone else could have. Also, like some of you have mentioned, I am not saying she should have done this because she is christian. I am saying it because she had her religous views on things and I remember when she freaked out when she heard about a teacher doing a similar thing. She wanted to be a teacher throughout high school and would always frown upon bad teachers.

I think that fact that she is a christian and her parents are ministers, makes it even worse for her and her family, as one anonymous person mentioned. I thought I knew her well, but obviously she had deep secrets or "rooted problems" that needed to be resolved. I think the third from the last post said it best:

Why must everyone assume the worst? What ever happened to "innocent until proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt?" Any educated individual realizes that our police have more in common with the gestapo than real "law enforcement officers" we are familiar with from popular T.V. shows so why can't you give her the benefit of the doubt, I know I do!

Yes, I like how they mentioned "all great christian people". By adding "christian", they are subtlely making the claim that being a christian is better than not being one. Check out the history books and you'll see being a christian doesn't make you anything other than someone with certain religious beliefs. It does not make you better in any way. ASnd for those who claim some "christian values", check the history again. There are no values held by christians that weren't held by any of the other 1000 religions that existed before chrisitanity. Another self-righteous attempt to hijack morality by the religious right.

In ref to Christians having sex with kids...

Speaking from a counseling background, most of those who have comitted sexual assault that I've dealt with fell into admittedly general categories: nonreligous people who have sex children and adults alike, and religous people who seem to stick to children. From what I have directly observed, these religous people seem attracted to the purity of children, and see sex with them as less of a social and moral offense than sex with someone "unclean". It is a part of the complex rationalization the mind builds to support the fantasy that they are not bad people.

personally, if i was 14 or 15 and a cute looking teacher wanted to have sex with me i'd go for it. we guys don't feel pressured and dn't feel abused, if anything we feel more confident about ourselves. had she not been caught this woulda been the best thing to ever happen to these kids.
for shame that the law had to bust this up, those young men were living the dream

Tells us more what you remember about her. Did she date much, and with what kind of person? What plays was she in with you? What stories do you remember about her? What is her husband like? Her father? (Yes, a minister, but so were Ted Haggard, Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart, etc.)

You "remember when she freaked out when she heard about a teacher doing a similar thing" -- was that a male or female teacher?

Thanks.

My guess is that she went into teaching because she has a thing for underage boys. Sexual predators place themselves in positions where they have easy access to their potential victims.

I went to school with Allenna Williams and she is very smart. In fact, she skipped a grade so she graduated before I did. She wasn't a popular girl. Just the girl that did exceptionally well. I had a few classes with her and we would often talk about what we were going to do after graduation. She has always wanted to be a teacher. That was her dream. I've seen her with children of all ages, and I thought she would make the perfect teacher. We would talk about news stories (which there weren't to many at the time) where a teacher would get caught with her students and she would convey her hatred towards that type of activity between a teacher and student.

I did not know her deep dark secrets. I just knew the exterior of Allenna. She was always happy and a great person to talk to. Maybe she was a victim of abuse or sexually abused as a child. We did hang out a few times. I eventually met her sister and we started performing in high school plays and Allenna was always there supporting. Even a few times during rehersals. I met her family eventually and they are all nice people. Her father is a minister and her mother worked at the church also. Allenna met her husband a few years ago and got married and I remember my friend and I were invited to go out and eat with the whole family for her engagement party.

We kept in touch over the years and lost contact a few years ago and then I hear this. Like many people say, I didn't see this coming at all. The more I think about it, the more the statement below makes a lot of sense:

"Speaking from a counseling background, most of those who have comitted sexual assault that I've dealt with fell into admittedly general categories: nonreligous people who have sex children and adults alike, and religous people who seem to stick to children. It is a part of the complex rationalization the mind builds to support the fantasy that they are not bad people."

I just hope her family is doing alright during all of this. I know this has to be so stressful for them.

I'm not saying what she did was right, but if you're a 15 year old boy and you have sex, it's ridiculous to use the word "victim".

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TEACHERS AND PEDOPHILES?

PEDOPHILES TRULY LOVE KIDS!

JUST OLD WORLD HUMOR. PEDOPHILES SHOULD BE LOCKED UP AND KEPT IN QUARANTINE ON SOME DESERTED ISLAND.

My wife and I are from Clinton and both went to the same high school and college she did. My wife was in both h.s. and college when she was, but didn't know her. Were you friends with her in college or h.s.? What church does her father pastor? I'm familiar with where she lives (Compton Road) and I'm sorry to hear about this situation in my hometown.

Hello Gene,
Your wife and you were in high school the same time I was then! She was ahead of me so she graduated before I did. I was in a few classes with her. Spanish is the only one I can remember now because she use to always make me laugh in that class. But yes, we became friends during high school. I knew her sister really well also. She went to clinton High as well.

I am not quite sure where her father was a pastor, but I knew it was somewhere in Clinton. They live in NC now. Its horrible news and I hope her and her family are in your prayers.

I really surprised that some comments are linked the incident with religion. The main point here is a teacher have unappropriate relation with her students, thats all. Her christianity is a very very level of detail. Why do you try to link the matter with christianity and her religious affliation. It is very nonsense. Anybody can make such a mistake whether religious or not. Are all the previous teachers who had sex with their students good christians. No! So religion is not guilty for the behaviour of this young lady. Contrarily religion prevents those type of pervasive acts most of the time.

I really thrilled that how some nonreligious people exploit any opportunity to attack the religion.
Personally I am a muslim and coming from a muslim country. And when the matter is religion those nonbeleivers are same in all around the world, as in my home country. They produce unbeleivable comments on simple matters and conclude nonsense theories on how religion causes problems, bla bla bla.
When the subject is attacking the religion and religious people, they always share the same wierd tactics. The religion and the country might be different but the pattern is always the same: Attack to the religion by all means!

A good case to show how badly US Christians are doing for 6 days after the Sunday worship.

I totally agree with the people saying that if they were 14 or 15 they would have screwed the teacher. We are on this earth to have sex. The law saying "you must be 16 to have sex" is a man made law, it does not exist. If you are male and can get it up, you are ready. IF you are female and bleeding, you are able.

I really hope that nothing happens to the teacher. If anything these kids got the best lesson they will ever have in school. The feeling of a woman on them. She is quite cute too! If it was a male teacher raping the students then i think that is pretty bad! However this was 5 consenting pupils all having a go on a teacher. It is pretty hard to rape a guy, provided she was not forcing them (and from the sounds of the note they found, she wasn't) i see absolutely nothing wrong with this happening. If my son was getting screwed at 15 by a cute teacher id advise him to be careful.

If it was my daughter i might have different reservations. The daughter has a lot more to lose than a son. Mainly getting pregnant!

I say top marks to the kids getting the sex, id have done the same if i was in their shoes.

all christian and non christian have the same thing.they have decisions to make.some of us make good decisions and all of us make bad decisions.this person who claims to be a christian made a very bad decision sleeping and having sex with these 2 teenagers.she made the decision the devil or satan of lucifer didnt not make her.im sick and tired of people using fictious figures such as satan to blame for their shortcomings.most of are grownup and please for god sakes start MANING AND WOMANING UP FOR OUR DECISIONS.and stop blaming your parents and dna for bad decisions

So, my question would be why do you all seem to be lumping everyone together? All teachers, all christians, all americans. If anything it's the human races fault. She, what she did was bad, but where'd she learn it from? You cannot do unless you are taught. The entire world has little morality anymore. Even places like China, Japan, Russia, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan. It's not just teachers, it's not just women, it's not just christians, it's not just americans. Maybe you should take a good, long and hard look at your past and then try to tell me your perfect. No one is, I'm not excusing what she did, she should pay for her crimes. But, what goes around comes around. She will be judged, and so will everyone else. No matter whether you stole, cursed someone, cursed someone's god or just simply did someone wrong, it's all the same to God, murdering is the same as stealing in his book and she will be judged. But, have a nice day and try to be as peaceful as possible! Stop bashing others and try to see the positive in all!

The problem is that we have people in authority postions and leadership position. For some reason these people are not mature enough or just dont care what their responsibilities as a teacher, church worker, principle, pastor, etc.So for some reason they decide to take advantage of their authority and take advantage of their position.they take advantage of the weak and we have a situation like we have had in recent times.Im not a christian but i think its time for the schools to get prayer back into schools.Back in the 60s,and early 70s we didnt have all this crap.
