iPhone or Car?

This is rather interesting. According to a CNW Marketing Research report, 32 percent of teenagers surveyed say that a new cell phone would impress their friends more than a car would. Those are today's statistics. In 2000, CNW Marketing Research found that 35 percent of all 16-29 year olds with a new car would impress their friends. That means, a new car has fallen to only a 20 percent popularity rate.

If the cell phone is a new iPhone, the percentage shoots to an astonishing 70 percent among youth! In its 2007 survey, CNW found cell phones the most popular possession among youth, followed by electronic games at 27%, iPods at 26%, footwear at 24% and computers at 23%, with cars at the 20% mark. Wow...

The research conducted by CNW amazed me because I thought that a brand new $30,000 car would sure impress any of my friends over a $500 cell phone.
