This interesting looking skateboard dubbed, "a motorized skateboard for an urban environment" has a centered wheel and a computerized weight balancing system to keep you upright--similar to the Segway.
The idea has been tossed around for years and nothing ever came of them. Tal Ofir thinks otherwise. He conjured up this design with a plan to actually make it. We'll see. I think it is pretty cool anyway.
